The Richmond board has advised that Kerry Ryan will fill the casual vacancy created by the departure of Gary March, who formally stepped down as president at last Monday night’s Jack Dyer Medal.

The Club’s nominations committee, which comprises current board member Rob Dalton, along with Henriette Rothschild (Managing Director, Hay Group), Emmett Dunne and Michael Green, recommended the appointment of Ryan after interviewing a number of potential candidates.

The board accepted the recommendation of the nominations committee when it met late last week.

Ryan becomes the second female director on the Richmond board, joining the newly-elected president Peggy O’Neal.

She has more than 20 years’ experience as a commercial lawyer, both domestically and internationally, including spending nine years as a partner with international law firm Norton Rose Fulbright (formerly Deacons).

Ryan, the first independent director to be appointed to the board of CPA Australia, is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

“Kerry brings great experience and expertise to the board,” said Richmond president Peggy O’Neal.

“She has a great understanding of corporate governance, risk management and compliance, through other boards she has served on, and corporate reviews and analysis she has undertaken.”

“We look forward to having her join the board, and her appointment will further strengthen the Club.”
