Richmond has recalled talented, young utility player Matt McDonough to its line-up for Sunday’s big clash with reigning premier Hawthorn at the MCG.

The 20-year-old, who has played just two senior games with the Tigers, most recently in the opening round this season against Gold Coast, replaces experienced midfielder Matt Thomas, who is out with a knee injury.

McDonough was selected by Richmond with its fourth pick (No. 42 overall) in the 2012 AFL National Draft.

He has regained his place in Richmond’s team on the back of some impressive performances with the Tigers’ VFL side in recent weeks.

The three emergencies for the Tigers in Sunday’s game are Ben Lennon, Jake Batchelor and Brad Helbig.
