Richmond’s talented, young Tiger utility player, Matt McDonough, has earned high praise from dual Jack Dyer Medallist and Club vice-captain, Brett Deledio.

McDonough, who was taken by the Tigers with their fourth pick (No. 42 overall) at the 2012 AFL National Draft, has played four league games all-up.

The 20-year-old’s most recent game, against Geelong at the MCG last Sunday, was his best yet, and Deledio believes he has what it takes to develop into a key member of the Richmond side.

“I rate Matty.  He’s an elite user by foot and makes good decisions as well,” Deledio said on this week’s ‘Talking Tigers’.

“He obviously came here as a small half-forward, but he’s gone back into the half-back line.

“We need to get the ball in his hands as much as we can because he just uses it so well and penetrates.”
