Shane Edwards is another Tiger who’s worked his way well into the 2014 season . . .

The clever forward/midfielder has averaged 22 disposals per game over the past three rounds and been a valuable contributor for the Richmond side.

He has impacted through the midfield and hit the scoreboard as well, when playing up forward.

Edwards, who kicked a career-high 29 goals in 2012, has 17 goals in 16 games so far this season.

“’Shedsy’ is going really well.  I think we’ve started to utilise our half-forwards a lot more, and he’s reaping the benefits of that,” said Edwards’ teammate, dual Jack Dyer Medallist Brett Deledio.

“He is probably one of our hardest workers . . . If you watch the game closely, and watch him closely, he works incredibly hard, and he’s starting to see the benefits of it at the moment from our ball movement.

“He’s kicking more goals and getting a lot more touches.”

Deledio made special mention of Edwards’ elusiveness . . .

“That’s probably one of the reasons why we throw him into the centre bounce, because he can win it in close, get out of there, and get a clean take-away for us, rather than just a hack kick forward,” Deledio said.

“I think he’s averaged seven or eight clearances over the last few weeks, so he knows how to find it in there.

“He’s so elusive that it just opens up everyone else.”
