Richmond key forward Ben Griffiths has been ruled out of this Friday night’s match against Carlton through injury.

Griffiths was subbed out of last weekend’s match against GWS, and has since undergone a minor procedure on his shoulder.

The injury is likely to keep Griffiths out for 2-3 weeks.

Meanwhile, rookie forward Jayden Short will miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury.

Short has played 10 games for Richmond’s VFL team this year, kicking six goals.

In other injury news from Tigerland, the Tigers’ 2014 top draft pick, Corey Ellis, along with midfielder Reece Conca and rookie Jason Castagna, are expected to return to the field within a fortnight.

Ellis has been sidelined with a hip flexor injury, Conca has been battling hamstring issues, and Castagna has almost recovered from an ankle complaint.

Veteran utility Chris Knights made a successful return to the field last weekend, emerging unscathed from playing two quarters in the VFL team’s win over North Ballarat.

Ruckman Ivan Maric has already been ruled out of this Friday night’s AFL match through suspension.
