Richmond midfielder Reece Conca has extended his tenure at the Club for a further two years.

Conca, 24, signed a two-year contract extension that will see him remain at Tigerland until at least the end of 2018.

The West Australian product was drafted to Richmond with the Club’s first round selection (No. 6 overall) in the 2010 National AFL Draft.

Conca has endured several injury setbacks in his six-year career with the Tigers, playing 80 AFL matches.

The 2011 AFL Rising Star nominee played six senior games last season, after injuring his hamstring in the Club’s final NAB Challenge match.

Richmond’s General Manager – Football Talent, Dan Richardson, said the Club was pleased Conca had re-committed.

“Reece has had a tough run with injuries, but we are confident his best football is still ahead of him,” Richardson said.

“He will complete a full pre-season and we expect him to go into season 2017 fit and available to play in Round 1.

“Reece has always remained positive, given his injury setbacks, and works tirelessly to get the most out of himself on and off the field.”

Conca joins a number of Tigers to re-sign with Shaun Hampson, Sam Lloyd, Oleg Markov, David Astbury, Shaun Grigg, Bachar Houli, Ben Griffiths and Ivan Maric all extending their contracts.
