RICHMOND rookie Callum Moore's push for elevation to the senior list has been stalled by an ankle injury, with the young tall set to miss up to six weeks.

Moore suffered a partial syndesmosis sprain to his left ankle during the VFL Tigers' round six clash against Williamstown and will wear a moonboot for the next week.

The 20-year-old had an arthroscope to identify if he would need major surgery but was cleared, and is now facing a period of rest before working up to weight-bearing rehabilitation and training.

The Tigers expect him to be sidelined for between five and six weeks, ruling the versatile key position player out of action at a time when the Tigers are desperate for tall forwards to stand up.

Moore, who has moved between defence and attack in the VFL this season, was recruited in the 2016 NAB AFL Rookie Draft and played two late season games in 2016.

Meanwhile, defender Nathan Broad is set to return through the VFL this weekend after two months sidelined with a shoulder injury.

The Tigers will need to drop Ivan Soldo back to the rookie list to allow Broad to play, but they can re-elevate the ruckman in place of Reece Conca (foot), Nathan Drummond (knee) or Shaun Hampson (back), who are all sidelined indefinitely and on the long-term injury list.

Draftee Jack Graham (ankle) is also on the long-term injury list but is expected to return shortly after next week's bye alongside Nick Vlastuin (shoulder).
