Nick Vlastuin continued his top form since returning from the severe shoulder injury that sidelined him for a couple of months, with an excellent performance in Richmond’s loss to Geelong at Simonds Stadium last Saturday.

The tough, talented Tiger defender had a season-high 24 disposals, a team-high eight intercepts, team-high eight rebound-50s, equal game-high 10 marks, and finished with an impressive, team-high 538 metres gained.

He showcased his trademark composure and excellent reading of the play throughout the match, constantly positioning himself in the right place to repel dangerous Geelong attacking moves.

Interestingly, in Vlastuin’s first six games this season, he averaged just 10 disposals per match, 4.5 contested possessions, 2 marks and 1.3 rebound-50s.

Since returning to the Tigers’ senior line-up in Round 17 against Brisbane at the MCG, however, he’s averaged 19.2 disposals, 5.9 contested possessions, 5.1 rebound-50s and 8.1 marks.

And Vlastuin is currently ranked 11th in the competition for effective disposals per game.
