As hard as it is to fathom, brilliant Richmond premiership midfielder Dustin Martin’s best football may still be ahead of him.

That’s the opinion of the Club’s CEO Brendon Gale, who is convinced the Tigers superstar has the capacity to take his game to an even higher level than he displayed throughout an outstanding 2017 season, where he scooped the pool in terms of individual awards.

“He’s set the bar pretty high, hasn’t he! I think he can play to an equally high standard . . . I think he can get better,” Gale said.

“Does that mean he wins all the medals and individual trophies? I don’t know. There’s a lot of good players out there.

“But he’s a remarkably mature footballer in the way he can really focus – contest by contest, quarter by quarter, week by week.

“So I’ve got full confidence in his ability to back up again.

“I think he’s got enormous upside.

“The other stuff, they’re outcomes.

“What will be, will be.”
