Star Richmond midfielder Kane Lambert has provided an insight into the selfless attitude and team-first approach of the Tigers’ playing group, which he is the embodiment of.

Lambert was superb in Richmond’s 46-point win against Melbourne on Anzac Eve, going about his business with trademark minimum fuss, maximum efficiency, and racking up a team-high 29 disposals.

“It’s just about role playing and playing for each other,” Lambert told Channel Seven post-game.

Round 5: Lambert post-match

“We take more satisfaction out of our mates getting goals and kicks, marks, handballs, than ourselves.

“It’s not something that happens overnight . . . it’s been a long process working on our culture and we think it works for us.

“There’s a lot of things that you don’t see, things that don’t get stats, but internally we celebrate them . . .

It’s not always about getting the footy, it’s about setting your teammate up, and we really appreciate that.”
