You have to go back 73 years for the last time a Richmond player had more scoring shots than star key forward Jack Riewoldt did with his total of 10.6 in yesterday’s 74-point win against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium.

Sel Murray, a left-foot, full-forward, recruited from North Melbourne, kicked 10.7 for the Tigers in Round 7 of the 1945 season against Carlton at Princes Park.

Doug Strang had 16 shots the day he booted a Richmond record 14 goals (14.2) against North Melbourne at Punt Road in Round 2 of the 1931 season.

The all-time scoring shots’ record for the Tigers is 18 (12.6) by Jack Baggott in Round 9, 1928 v South Melbourne at Punt Road.

Riewoldt, with his third-ever AFL 10-goal haul yesterday, has now joined the great Jack Titus in equal second place on Richmond’s list of players to kick 10 goals or more in a match.

Michael Roach leads the way at Tigerland for double-figure goals, achieving the coveted goalkicking milestone on five occasions.
