Richmond is pleased to announce VFL and development coach Craig McRae has re-committed to the Club for a further two seasons.

McRae, a triple premiership player at Brisbane, has led the VFL Tigers to two consecutive finals appearances in his past three seasons at the helm.

In 2017 the VFL Tigers were runners-up in the Grand Final. This year they finished the home-and-away season on top of the ladder.

McRae previously worked as a development coach at Richmond from 2007-09, before holding similar roles at Brisbane and Collingwood.

He returned to Tigerland at the end of 2015 and has had a significant impact on the success of the program.

McRae, a qualified school teacher, is also a part-time kicking and catching coach with the Melbourne Storm.

Richmond’s General Manager – Football, Neil Balme, said the Club was delighted to extend his contract.

“Fly is a highly respected and well-liked person, who is a real asset to our football club,” Balme said.

“He has a great ability to connect with his players and in turn gets the best out of them.

“He has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to build a strong culture within the VFL program and this has translated to on-field success.”

McRae said it was an easy decision to continue his tenure at Richmond.

“I am very grateful to be part of such a great Club and feel extremely valued and appreciated in my role,” McRae said.

“It was an easy decision to sign on and I really look forward to growing the VFL program further over the next two years.”
