Richmond has been advised by the AFL it will receive an end of second round draft selection as compensation following the departure of unrestricted free agent Reece Conca.

The selection is currently No. 36 overall in the 2018 AFL National Draft after Conca, 26, signed with Fremantle on the opening day of the unrestricted free agency period.

Conca was drafted to Richmond with pick No. 6 overall in the 2010 AFL National Draft.

He played 104 senior games after making his debut for the Tigers in Round 1 of the 2011 season.

Richmond’s General Manager – Football, Neil Balme, thanked Conca for his service to the Club.

“I’d like to thank Reece for his hard work and dedication to the Richmond Football Club over the past eight years,” Balme said.

“Reece is a much-loved person at the Club and we respect his decision to return home to Western Australia.

Everyone at Richmond joins me in wishing Reece the best of luck in his next chapter at Fremantle.”
