Corey Ellis and Anthony Miles will depart Richmond after a deal was reached with the Gold Coast Suns on the opening day of the AFL Trade Period.

Gold Coast will receive Ellis, Miles and Richmond's 2019 third round draft selection, in exchange for their 2019 third round pick.

Richmond recruited Miles in the 2014 Rookie Draft and he went on to play 60 senior games in the yellow and black.

The 26-year-old was restricted to just one senior appearance during 2018 because of the Tigers’ strong midfield depth but he experienced a brilliant VFL season.

He was a joint winner of this year’s JJ Liston Trophy and awarded Richmond’s Guinane Medal for the Club’s VFL best and fairest for a second consecutive year.

Ellis was drafted to Richmond with pick No. 12 overall in the 2014 AFL National Draft.

The 21-year-old played 27 senior matches for the Tigers and was an emergency for the 2017 AFL Grand Final.

Richmond’s General Manager – Football, Neil Balme, thanked the pair for their time at the Club.

“Anthony and Corey played well above VFL level this year and we understand their desire to seek new opportunities.

“Milesy is the ultimate professional and has given our football club wonderful service over the past five years.

“At just 21 years old, Corey is a talented footballer and has a bright future ahead of him.

"We wish them the best of luck at the Gold Coast and thank them for their time at Richmond."
