Jonty Faull: Back, Season

Richmond can confirm second-year forward Jonty Faull will miss the remainder of the 2026 AFL season due to stress fractures in his back.

Faull presented to the medical staff with back soreness, with scans revealing early stages of bone stress in his back.

Faull, the No. 14 pick in the 2024 draft, played 10 games this season, including an impressive three-goal performance in the Round 8 win over West Coast.

The 20-year-old was beginning to build strong form, amassing five goals, 15 marks and 15 score involvements over his last four games, before suffering a concussion in the Dreamtime at the ‘G win over Essendon.

Richmond Executive General Manager - Football Performance, Tim Livingstone, said the Club will fully support Faull during his rehab.

“This is a disappointing setback for Jonty, especially coming off a really strong month of performances,” Livingstone said.

“He has worked incredibly hard throughout the season, however, we want to set him up for long-term success, and ruling him out for the season will ensure the best form of recovery.

“We know Jonty will attack his rehab with energy and professionalism, and the entire club will wrap our arms around him over the next period of time.”

Tom Brown: Forearm, Available
Zane Peucker: Syndesmosis, Available
Taj Hotton: Hip, Available

“All three of those guys came in for a bit of extra training last week, put in a good body of work, and we can happily say that they're all going to be available for selection this weekend,” Serpell said.

Toby Nankervis: Hamstring, Test

“[Toby] has got through a fair bit of work,” Serpell said.

"We had him down for a test last week. We actually still just want to see him do a little bit more training before we make him available, so we'll list him as a test again this week, and hopefully he’ll be available next week.”

Samson Ryan: Concussion, Test

“Samson Ryan's doing really well,” Serpell said.

"He's just got to get through one more session to pass through the concussion protocols, and provided he gets through that without any aggravation of symptoms, he'll be available for selection this weekend.”

Rhyan Mansell: Foot, Round 15-17

“He's back on track, and we think he's progressing ahead of time,” Serpell said.

“We're willing to put a time frame on him, which is a bit shorter, and hopefully see him out for managed minutes the week after next.”

Kane McAuliffe: Achilles, Round 15-17

“Kane used his break really well, he's got through a fair bit of training, got some good treatment, got a lot of good strength work done,” Serpell said.

“All going well, we think we can pencil him in for the North Melbourne game in a couple of weeks.”

Sam Lalor: Achilles, Round 16-18

“He's doing really well,” Serpell said.

“He's been back running for two weeks now. We'll see that progress over the next little while.”

Tom Sims: MCL, Round 18-20

“Simsy came out of his brace today, and he's going to start doing a bit more strength work around the knee,” Serpell said.

“He's actually out there starting to do a bit of running today, and so we can happily say that he'll be available at around Round 18 to 20.”

Tom Lynch: Throat, TBC

“Tom's voice is back now, and he's talking a lot. He's out seeing the specialist as we speak,” Serpell said.

“Hopefully, we'll have an update soon after that. At the very least, we anticipate he'll be back training by tomorrow.”

Jack Ross: Concussion, TBC

"Rossy hasn't progressed as well as Samson Ryan, and unfortunately, he hasn't ticked all the boxes to pass through the concussion protocols,” Serpell said.

“He won't be available for selection this weekend, and we'll continue to list him as a TBC.”
