Curtailing West Coast’s in-form forwards will be a key focus for Richmond in this Friday night’s Round 12 clash at the MCG.

The Eagles are one of the most damaging attacking teams in the competition, with Josh Kennedy (nine goals clear in the Coleman Medal race), Mark LeCras and Josh Hill kicking 85 goals between them in the first half of the year.

“Obviously Kennedy’s leading the Coleman at the moment and is kicking a lot of goals,” Richmond assistant coach Brendon Lade told Roar Vision’s Matthew Richardson on this week’s ‘Spotlight’ preview show.

Watch: Damien Hardwick spoke to the media at the ME Centre on Thursday

“LeCras is a smart forward who can mark and crumb, and it was Darling’s first game on the weekend.

“They’ve got some definite firepower up there, but if we can have some pressure entries inside their forward 50, hopefully it makes it easier for our backs.”

Lade is confident Richmond’s defensive group can continue its solid form and restrict the Eagles scoring ability.

“Our backs have probably been our best line in the last four or five weeks,” he said.

“They’re really doer at the moment.  It’ll be a good match-up, and I’m looking forward to the Rance/Kennedy one as well.”

Richmond has named a line-up which is unchanged from the win over Fremantle in Round 10.
