The squad is in for Richmond's Round 8 clash with Fremantle on Sunday at the MCG, headlined by the inclusion of Jayden Short. 

Important half-back Short is on track to return against the Dockers after straining his calf against West Coast in Round 5.

He's joined in the squad by Kane McAuliffe and Tyler Sonsie, who were omitted for Anzac Day Eve, and Samson Ryan, who could be recalled for the first time since the Opening Round. 

Yet-to-debut lively small forward Steely Green has also been named for a potential first senior game.

Green, 20, racked up 17 disposals, five marks, four inside-50s and a goal last Wednesday in the VFL Tigers' Anzac Day Eve win over Casey.

"Steely has been working towards a breakout game like this," VFL coach Steve Morris said of Green.

"His work rate and team-first mentality were on show right throughout the day."

Sonsie was best on ground in the VFL victory for an impressive outing in which he collected 32 disposals, including 19 contested possessions, 10 clearances, seven inside-50s, five marks and one goal.

Out of the squad is Jacob Hopper, who suffered a hamstring injury in Round 7, and fellow midfielder Jack Graham, who won't play due to a minor hamstring complaint.

Richmond will confirm its final Round 8 team on Friday night at 5.00pm AEDT.

The Club will then name its substitute 60 minutes prior to the first bounce on Sunday. 

Sunday's game will be broadcast live on FOX FOOTY and Kayo Sports.
