The VFL Tigers will welcome the return of defenders Nathan Broad and Sam Darley when they host Werribee at Beaconsfield’s Holm Park Recreation Reserve this Saturday.

The Tigers, of the Richmond-variety, come into the Round 7 clash off the back of a strong win against Essendon last Saturday.

Broad comes back for his first game since the end of March having been reinstated to the primary list on Thursday after recovering from a shoulder injury.

Richmond VFL captain Darley, and Tiger tall Todd Elton, will also bolster the side, after being unavailable for last weekend’s clash due to representative and AFL duties, respectively.

Richmond has committed to playing two VFL home games in the Cardinia Shire each year for at least the next three seasons.

Following Saturday’s first trip, the VFL Tigers will return to Holm Park Recreation Reserve in Round 12, when they host Casey on Saturday, July 18.

The Club’s connection to the region stems back to 2012, when it joined forces with the Cardinia Shire Council to bring the community together using football, through various programs, events and community engagement initiatives.

Richmond CEO Brendon Gale said it marked a new and exciting initiative for the Club.

“We have a strong and loyal following in Cardinia Shire and we are excited to bring our brand of football to supporters and football fans in the region,” Gale said.

“Entry is free for Richmond members and children under the age of 15, and we hope to see a large crowd at Holm Park Recreation Reserve supporting our VFL program.”

Saturday’s game kicks off at 1pm with gates open at 11:30am. Food, a barbecue and kids’ activities, including football inflatables, will all be available.

Holm Park Recreation Reserve is located at Beaconsfield-Emerald Rd, Beaconsfield 3807.
