Renowned sports artist Jamie Cooper is about to reveal a moment 37 years in the making.

All Tiger fans can now be a part of that most treasured time and place - the locker room celebration at the MCG immediately after the drought-breaking 2017 Premiership.

“The place where every fan would want to be would be in those change rooms when the guys have just come off the MCG in that last day in September and the party’s about to get started,” Cooper said.

“I thought I’d try and lift the veil on that really precious moment and bring the fans into it.”

To start his research, Cooper spent time with the leadership group to get a first-hand insight into the playing group and what they felt were some of the significant factors that moulded them into premiers.

From this, Jamie has woven several stories into this incredible scene.

Amongst the festive atmosphere are some more poignant reminders of what unites a club both on and off the field, as well as many of the lighter notes that helped bond the team during the year.

“Speaking to the players, I had a great chat with Jack, Alex and Trent about some of the things that were important to them,” he said.

“I’ve tried to weave in as many of those stories as I can. Chatting to the players, I said ‘Tell me about Dimma’. They said, ‘Well for starters, he has to be wearing RM William boots’. He also had some sayings and some stories that he used to motivate the players and one was about Sir Edmond Hilary and the last steps to the summit of Mount Everest - so he’s got an ice pick in his hand.”

“It’s taken a lot of work to get together but I hope it does justice to that great moment,” Cooper added.
