For the second game in-a-row, star key forward Jack Riewoldt has polled the most votes by a Richmond player in the prestigious AFL Coaches Association’s Player of the Year award.

Riewoldt produced a superb, all-round performance in the Tigers’ 33-point, Round 5 loss to Melbourne at the MCG last Sunday night.

His match statistics in the big Anzac eve clash with the Demons were more akin to a gun midfielder than a forward – 24 disposals, including 15 contested possessions, six inside-50s, seven marks, including three contested grabs, two goal assists and three goals.

He was duly awarded four votes in the AFLCA Player of the Year award for Round 5 from rival coaches Damien Hardwick (Richmond) and Paul Roos (Melbourne).

The only other Tiger player to poll votes this week was captain Trent Cotchin, who picked up three for his first-class display through the midfield.

Cotchin finished with a team-high 32 disposals, including a team-high 20 contested possessions, a game-high 10 clearances, with a game-high five centre clearances, plus six tackles.
