Robust Richmond forward/midfielder Josh Caddy was rewarded for his powerful, match-winning performance against St Kilda at the MCG last Saturday with a perfect score in the AFL Coaches’ Association’s Player of the Year Round 10 voting.

Caddy, who had 24 disposals, including 13 contested possessions, a game-high 12 score involvements, an equal game-high seven tackles, took six marks (five of them inside-50) and kicked an equal game-high six goals, received 10 votes from respective coaches Damien Hardwick (Richmond) and Alan Richardson (St Kilda).

Inspirational Tigers captain Trent Cotchin moved into equal third place in the prestigious coaches’ award after picking up eight votes for his superb display against the Saints – a team-high 32 disposals with a game-high 17 contested possessions, game-high nine clearances, game-high seven inside-50s, team-high 53 pressure points, seven intercepts, eight score involvements, one goal and 504 metres gained.

Cotchin now has a total of 45 votes, which is just six behind the leader, Fremantle skipper Nat Fyfe.

Brilliant Richmond key defender Alex Rance polled four votes after finishing last Saturday’s match with 14 disposals, eight marks and a team-high 10 intercepts.

Dynamic Tiger midfielder Dustin Martin and quality small defender-turned-dangerous forward, Nick Vlastuin, polled two votes apiece.

Martin, who won the AFLCA Player of the Year in 2017, had 26 disposals, with 12 contested possessions, six clearances, four inside-50s, nine score involvements, two goals and 465 metres gained.

Vlastuin, moved forward late in the third quarter of the clash with St Kilda, had 16 disposals, nine score involvements, took an equal team-high nine marks and kicked three vital goals.
