Dustin Martin’s brilliant ‘banana’ goal against St Kilda at the MCG in the final 2017 home-and-away round has been voted Richmond’s sixth best of its premiership year by Tiger fans.

Early in the last quarter of the Saints’ clash, with Richmond holding a 26-point lead, Martin gathered a ground ball just inside the team’s forward-50, following a trademark strong spoil from dependable Tiger defender Dylan Grimes.

Martin then coolly slotted it through the upright perpendiculars with, in the words of Channel Seven commentator, an ‘inside-out bender’ (aka banana or checkside kick) that sent the Tiger Army into raptures.

The fifth best Richmond goal of the year, as voted on by Yellow and Black barrackers, will be revealed later today.
