Richmond veteran Chris Newman is about to move into the top 10 on the Tigers’ all-time games’ list.

Newman joined Vic Thorp, who was recently elevated to ‘Immortal’ status at Tigerland, in equal 11th place, when he played his 262nd game, against Hawthorn at the MCG last Friday night.

Richmond’s 1932 premiership captain and 1934 premiership captain-coach, Percy Bentley, is currently in 10th place on the list with 263 games.

Newman, 33, was taken by the Tigers at pick 55 overall in the 2000 National Draft.

He made his senior league debut with Richmond in Round 9 of the 2002 season against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.
