Richmond captain Trent Cotchin qualifies for life membership of the Club when he plays his 150th AFL game, against Gold Coast at the MCG on Sunday.

At 25 years and 132 days of age, Cotchin will become the fourth youngest player in Tigerland history to achieve the 150 milestone.  Current Richmond vice-captain Brett Deledio was the youngest Tiger to 150 games, at 24 years and 139 days.

Children under 15 years of age will gain free entry to Richmond’s match against Gold Coast at the MCG this Sunday

Cotchin, who was taken by the Tigers with their first pick (No. 2) overall in the 2007 AFL National Draft, made his senior league debut in Round 8 of the 2008 season against reigning premier Geelong at the MCG, aged 18 years and 42 days, after being called up as a late replacement that day.

He joined the exclusive group of players who scored a goal with their first kick in league football, and subsequently booted another six-pointer in a promising 16-disposal display.

Seven years on, Cotchin is regarded as a premier midfielder of the competition, having finished equal runner-up in the 2012 Brownlow Medal, earning All-Australian representation the same year, and winning three Jack Dyer Medals (2011, 2012 and 2014).

Cotchin has been involved in 73 wins, two draws and 74 losses during his 149 games so far for the Tigers.

His record since taking over as Richmond’s captain at the end of 2012 is 37 wins and 26 losses from 63 games.

He’s played 82 games all-up at the MCG, for 40 wins, two draws and 40 losses.
