Richmond’s line-up for Saturday’s big match against Collingwood at the MCG has received a significant boost with the inclusion of talented playmaker Shane Edwards.

The 26-year-old veteran of 164 games has fully recovered from the hairline fracture of the leg that he suffered against Carlton in Round 15.

He was in career-best form before the injury setback, averaging 19.9 disposals per game, 10.5 contested possessions, 3.4 inside-50s, kicking 10 goals, and creating numerous scoring opportunities for teammates through his clever play.

Edwards replaces midfielder Matt Thomas, who has been omitted, in the only change to the Tigers’ team for Saturday’s game.

The three Richmond emergencies are Thomas, Shaun Hampson and Jason Castagna.
