Richmond has named its 27-man squad for Saturday's second round match of the AFL's pre-season series, against Essendon at Wangaratta.

The Tigers have included feisty small forward Jake King and mature-age ruck recruit Orren Stephenson in their squad after both missed last Friday night's triangular opening round of the competition.

King has recovered quicker than anticipated from a bout of post-season surgeries, while Stephenson, who played eight senior games for Geelong in his debut season of league football last year, will assume the team's No. 1 ruck mantle in the absence of the rested Ivan Maric.

Other key players from last Friday night's pre-season opener, joining Maric on the sidelines, will be captain Trent Cotchin, vice-captain Brett Deledio, gun small defender Steven Morris, Adelaide recruit Chris Knights and talented, young midfielder Reece Conca.

The Tigers have an open training session for fans in Wangaratta on Friday, March 1. The training session is from 5:00-5:45pm on the football oval, at the Wangaratta Showgrounds.
