Talented Tiger ‘tall’ Ty Vickery has rebounded strongly from the shoulder injury that wrecked his 2012 season.

Vickery, who kicked a career-high 36 goals in 2011, missed the entire second half of last season after undergoing a shoulder reconstruction, but he’s bounced back in impressive fashion this year.

His equal-career-high four goals (all in the second half) against Essendon in last Saturday night’s final home-and-away round, took his season’s tally to 25, and he shapes as a key factor in Sunday’s blockbuster elimination final clash with Carlton at the MCG.

“He’s such a valuable player for us,” said Richmond coach Damien Hardwick following the team’s 39-point victory over the Bombers.

“You’ve got to remind yourself he’s only 23 years of age.

“He’s a good player now, but he’s got the potential to be a very good player.

“He’ll only get better . . .”

Vickery has kicked a total of 76 goals in 74 games for Richmond, after making his AFL debut in 2009.
