The Masala Football Club made its playing debut last weekend.

Masala, a predominantly Indian football team, which competes in the Victorian Amateur Football Association, played Richmond Centrals at Kevin Bartlett Reserve.

Although Masala was beaten by a big margin, the team will benefit significantly from the experience.  For many of the Masala players, this was  their first-ever game of Australian Football.

The team’s sole goalkicker on the day was Wayne McMahon.

Richmond proudly supports Masala through the provision of equipment, governance assistance and playing attire.

The Masala players were recently presented with their guernseys by Richmond players Matt White and Orren Stephenson.

Masala’s next game is this Saturday afternoon (April 20), against the Dragons at Barry J. Powell Reserve, in Noble Park.
