Aligned Leisure, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Richmond Football Club, is now officially managing the Shire of Cardinia's major recreational facilities.

Aligned Leisure commenced management of eight major facilities within the Cardinia Shire on July 1.

The Shire of Cardinia is located 50kms south-east of Melbourne in one of Australia's biggest population growth corridors.

The area includes major suburbs such as Beaconsfield and Pakenham.

The Club's connection to the region stems back to 2012, when it joined forces with the Cardinia Shire Council to bring the community together using football, through various programs, events and community engagement initiatives.

As part of the management change, Aligned Leisure staged a major upgrade at the region's premier health and recreational facility, Cardinia Life.

"Through Aligned Leisure, we are diversifying and growing our business and that has been a focus of this Board," Tigers’ CEO Brendon Gale said.

"Elite-level football is highly competitive and it is crucial we take an innovative and bold approach."

"Cardinia Life has been fitted with brand-new state-of-the-art equipment to ensure Shire of Cardinia residents have access to an exceptional leisure facility."

As well as Cardinia Life Aquatic and Recreation Centre, Aligned Leisure manages Pakenham Regional Tennis Centre, four seasonal aquatic facilities and the newly developed Officer Community Hub and an outdoor synthetic sporting facility.

Aligned Leisure is headed up by Cain Liddle, Richmond's General Manager of Consumer Business and Shane Dunne, Consumer Strategy Manager, both of whom have almost 15 years' experience in the management of community recreation facilities.
