With the AFL free agency period beginning on Friday and the trade period kicking off from 10am on Monday, AFL.com.au previews Richmond’s position heading in to the trade period.

Richmond

Draft selections: 6, 42, 60, 78
Unsigned free agents: Ty Vickery (restricted)
Delistings/retirements: Troy Chaplin (ret), Adam Marcon, Liam McBean, Reece McKenzie (ret)

AFL.com.au says: After missing out on several big-name recruits in recent years, the Tigers convinced Suns midfielder Dion Prestia to nominate Punt Road as his preferred new home.

The Tigers will probably have to send pick No.6 to Gold Coast to get the deal done, but could receive one of the Suns' four second-round picks or a fringe Sun in addition to Prestia.

Richmond made a big play for Geelong speedster Steven Motlop last year and rival clubs suspect they could renew that interest this year, possibly as part of an exchange for star veteran Brett Deledio.

Despite constant denials from club and player, Deledio, 29, could depart as the Tigers seek to refresh their list.

Richmond will also look to bolster its ruck division if veteran Ivan Maric accepts an offer to join Collingwood.
