A freakish snap by skipper Trent Cotchin has been voted the best goal of the 2015 season by Richmond fans.

The Tigers had put in a disappointing first half against Sydney at the SCG in Round 13, and needed some inspiration to get back into the contest.

Shaun Grigg had the ball at half forward with his side training by 32 points, and his kick inside 50 missed the target of Brett Deledio, but was gathered by big man Ivan Maric.

He snapped to the top of the goalsquare, where Chris Newman provided an important contest and brought the ball to ground.

The spillage landed in the arms of Cotchin, who was immediately tackled by Swans’ defender Ted Richards.

With seemingly no way out, Cotchin somehow threw his left foot to the ball while lying horizontal to the ground, and it sailed by two defenders and through for a crucial goal.

Richmond went on to kick seven goals for the quarter, setting up a memorable come-from-behind win.
