How often do you take time out, just for you? For so many of us the answer is ‘not enough!’ but the introduction of physical activity and movement into your daily routine can be a great way to do just that. And, as well as getting that valuable you time - to unwind and relax - regular physical activity has a number of additional benefits.

Whether it’s a gentle jog around the park or walking when you’d normally catch the bus, introducing daily physical activities can reduce your chances of chronic disease at the same time as increasing your energy levels. More energy results in greater productivity, meaning less time worrying about that ‘to-do’ list and more time doing it. Sound good? Physical activity also contributes to better mental wellbeing and better social connections. But, if the thought of daily activities seems overwhelming, remember that some is always better than none.

To help #FindYourMotivation, start small. Simply commit to moving your body every day and work your way up from there. Try different activities until you find the one that feels right for you. You’ll be surprised about how good it makes you feel and the positive impacts it starts to have on you, and your health. There are lots of ideas for getting active on our Find Your Motivation hub.
