Adem Yze has highlighted second-year forward Jonty Faull, who continues to learn and grow to start the season.
Without key veteran Tom Lynch by his side, Faull, who has played just 19 games since being drafted to the Club in 2024, is handling extra expectations and responsibility, including playing on some of the AFL's strongest defenders over the first few weeks of the 2026 season.
It's a feat Yze lauds.
"I want to highlight Jonty Faull. Jonty is a highly talented key forward. [He is] realistically our number one forward at the moment," Yze said post-match on Saturday.
"Not many guys in their second year are getting the best defender every week. He's going to learn a lot form the next few weeks while Lynch is out [injured].
"I feel like he's toiling away. He's obviously a massive part of our future. He will be better for this."
Alongside Faull during Saturday's loss to Port Adelaide was Liam Fawcett, in game two, as well as Mykelti Lefau, in game 14. It highlights just how young the forward 50 stocks are, in a side that continues to find its feet with key veterans like Lynch sidelined.
"When you look at our key position stock at the moment, we've got a guy in his 14th game, and a guy in his second [game]. One of those is also helping with our ruck [Lefau]," Yze said.
"All of them showed some positives. They're going to learn from playing on the best defenders every week. There might be a little bit of pain with that early, but we've got to make sure we're showing them how they can grow and the positivity within those games.
"Fawcett was terrific. In his second game he didn't look out of place."
