Richmond's VWFL teams enjoyed another successful campaign in 2025, with the Championship and Community sides both making the Grand Finals.

The Championship team had a perfect home-and-away season, finishing on top of the ladder with an 8-0 record, before falling at the final hurdle with a 109-66 defeat to St Kilda in the Grand Final.

The Community team followed a similar script, ending the home-and-away campaign in first place after winning six of their eight games, before losing to Essendon in the Grand Final, 72-42.

James Weinert won the Club’s Best and Fairest award for the Championship Division side, while Matt Morris was named Best and Fairest for the Community Division team.

Both Weinert and Morris had astounding seasons on the court, leading their teams to their respective Grand Final appearances.

Weinert had an amazing 2025 campaign, where he was also recognised as the League’s Best and Fairest player.

With Richmond only having one player on the bench for most of its campaign, Weinert showed exceptional skill and heart when taking to the court, while Morris was a pivotal figure in the Community Division all season.

Chris Kotsanas also was a highlight this season, scoring an incredible 100 goals across the campaign.

Both teams will look to go one step further next season and fans can stay tuned to Richmond's digital channels for news about the 2026 season.
