2025 & 2026
Designed by Kate Dempsey, the 2025 and 2026 Pride Guernsey is strong, bold and inclusive for all.
"The black part of the jumper, I wanted it to be strong and bold this year and really stripping it back and being a really simple design. I think that's what Richmond do really well, the simple things,” Dempsey said
"The tiger mark with the beautiful rainbow colour through the middle was the parts of us that are maybe different, and maybe we haven't always accepted or felt like we belonged because of those parts, but identifying that everyone has those parts and that everyone does belong."
THE STORY BEHIND THE DESIGN2023 & 2024
Richmond's third AFLW Pride guernsey, was developed by defenders Rebecca Miller and Libby Graham, in conjunction with artist Matthew Chan.
The guernsey is comprised of three main elements, one of which is a rainbow sash, representing the path of self-acceptance and growth for people within the LTBTIQ+ community.
Also featuring on the design are fireworks, made up of important words and phrases used regularly within the team, in a nod to celebration, an important value for the side.
This wording includes 'hungry to improve', 'respect', 'turn up', 'proud to be', 'storytime', 'living the dream' - which is one of Miller's favourite sayings - as well as 'mum', recognising mother and Tigers' wing Kate Dempsey. Lastly, the jumper contains mountains, capturing the peaks and valleys of life.

Developed in conjunction with the Club’s community partner Midsumma Festival, artist Matthew Chan, captain Katie Brennan, and vice-captain Sarah Hosking, the design captures the journey of those in Richmond’s Women’s program while showing the importance of pride and inclusion.
Beginning again at the bottom of the sash with a young girl sitting and pondering what she can be when she grows up, the jumper continues along its story of growth, identity, and hard work.
The predominately yellow design maintains and expands on the stories within the Club’s inaugural Pride Guernsey, worn earlier in 2022.

Richmond's inaugural Pride Guernsey was developed in conjunction with the Club’s community partner, Midsumma Festival, artist Matthew Chan and Richmond players Katie Brennan and Sarah Hosking.
The design captures the journey, stories and milestones of the Richmond Women’s program while showing the importance of pride and inclusion.
“This jumper is about pride and the community, and the bigger picture of everyone finding somewhere to belong,” Sarah Hosking explained. But more than that, it also encompasses what it means to our playing group to wear a Richmond guernsey."
“This jumper tells a story of a young girl who is finding her way and is on a journey. It means something to everyone in our playing group and is a story about where we come from and where we have to go.”
