Tim Taranto has given an honest assessment of Richmond's 37-point loss to Adelaide, calling for accountability and growth from his side.
The Tigers held a narrow lead at the main break, before the Crows found the next level in the third, which set Richmond back in the final term.
"Our first half was amazing, our third quarter [was] terrible. They took 45 marks, we dropped off our pressure, had a few fumbles, and they just capitalised," Taranto said.
"The first two quarters were great, our KPIs were good. The third quarter obviously was not good enough. The fourth quarter was a good response, I thought."
As to how the side will address the fade away in that third quarter, Taranto believes the team needs to get mentally stronger, as their experience continues to grow each week.
"[We need] time together, playing together. Learning how to deal with adversity. If you make a couple of mistakes, how you respond from that," he said.
"It's a hard game, but you've just got to be able to deal with that and not let it get you down."
Taranto, who collected 28 disposals, nine clearances and 18 contested possessions in his return from a Round 6 concussion, has his mind solidly focussed on a crucial clash with the Saints on Sunday at Marvel Stadium.
"We need to stick to the process and learn from the game. It sounds like cliches as usual, but unfortunately that's footy," Taranto said.
"You've got to do the boring stuff over and over again until it clicks. And it will, we've just got to be patient."
