Adem Yze fronted the media on Friday at the Swinburne Centre, giving insights into the Round 17 clash against an in-form Carlton outfit.
Yze discussed the ways Richmond could disrupt the Blues' momentum, as well as speaking on the importance of Tom Lynch, ahead of his first game back since injuring his throat during Dreamtime at the 'G.
On welcoming back Tom Lynch...
“Being able to get Lynchy back is really important to our front end," Yze said.
“We've got a really young forward line, so the minute we lose any sort of experience, we obviously lost Mans (Rhyan Mansell) there for a little while, and then Lynchy, so having those two back just allows us to help our younger lads down there and hit the scoreboard.
“We knew that physically [Lynch] would be able to run around...but he had to tick [boxes from the surgeon], so we're never going to take any risk with him, or push it any harder, irrelevant of what we're going through.”
On facing Carlton for a second time this season...
“They're a different prospect, but their strengths are still the same, the contest and stoppage. They're moving the ball a little bit differently, but we were really unlucky last time," Yze said.
“They were way too good for us in the first half, and then we got some momentum in the second half, so we're hoping we can put on a really strong performance.
“They're in really good form. We need to take some of their strengths away, and then get our offence going and really test them the other way.
“We're looking forward to a performance in front of our Tiger Army, in a new guernsey, and the boys are pretty pumped about it.”
On playing in Richmond's Stealth guernsey...
“The boys walking around (in the Stealth kit), it's something totally different, and it just gives us some energy. It's going to look pretty cool," Yze said.
On how important a win is for this young Tigers group...
“We were desperate for a win last week, and we are again this week...but the process is exactly the same,” Yze said.
“We're starting to get some numbers out on the track so we can train, now we've got 36 players training, we can go and do certain drills that get us more prepared. We feel like we've got that right now.
"We're starting to really push the numbers out on the training track so that we can feel like we're prepared better than we have been in the last few weeks.
“We had a great week on the track, and we'd hope that translates into some high-level performance."
