Richmond AFLW Coach Jarrad Donders declared his side is "bullish" about their game plan, and will be relying on the growth of the young brigade to get back on the winners list this week.

After a disappointing 11-point loss to the Bulldogs in Round 2, Donders and his coaching team have identified the gaps in the game plan, with a full focus on Dreamtime in Darwin this Sunday night.

"We're very bullish around what we're capable of. We'll go back, we learn, we develop, we hold each other accountable. The best don't have a finish line and that's what we're really driving," Donders said post match on Saturday.

"The players have had some awesome moments...where we've really driven how to drive momentum, not just in a footy sense, but in a human sense.

"There were signs in our offence that worked, but we need to go back to generating speed on the ball on certain parts of the ground.

"We've got to get back to our defence as a growth area. We've let ourselves down in the contested piece of the game, denying the Dogs those [inside-50 entires]. We let ourselves down around the source too, with our pressure."

There were favourable moments too, however, with second-gamer Olivia Wolmarans and debutant Fina Dethlefsen standing tall, alongside Irish recruit Aoibhin Cleary's first goal.

"We take a lot of positives out of the game. Wooly [Olivia Wolmarans] kicking three goals was outstanding. We had Fina [Dethlefsen] on debut, who brought her contested strength and power and aerial marking ability into the game, Aoibhin [Cleary] kicked her first goal for the Club as well," Donders said.

The praise for the young duo Dethlefsen and Wolmarans extended beyond Donders, with teammate Montana Beruldsen also highlighting how crucial they have been in the air and in front of goal already.

"Fina has a good presence aerially and at ground level. She's a tough competitor, it was good to see her be assertive in the backline, which is how we like to play," Beruldsen said.

"Liv's had a really strong presence down forward. When she goes for a lead and flies for the ball, it's so exciting. It lifts the team. She's a great competitor down there for us."

All attention now turns to the highly-anticipated trip to Darwin for Dreamtime, with Richmond taking on Essendon.

"The team loves a trip to Darwin. It's a great moment to celebrate and it's very important for our Club," Beruldsen said.

"We're looking forward to it. We've got a bit of work to do on the track beforehand, but it's going to be great up in Darwin."
