Richmond AFLW coach Ryan Ferguson says it was "really important" for the Tigers to consolidate their big week last weekend with another significant victory on Saturday night at the Swinburne Centre, their fourth in a row.

"It was important to back up," Ferguson said.

"It was a special effort last week to play the best and be able to get over the line, and sometimes there can be a bit of a lull after that.

"(So) get the energy up, (when) we were a little big banged up and we lost a couple of players... was great."

After being omitted the week prior before being recalled back into the side, Ferguson lauded match-winner Emelia Yassir on "how she responded to that challenge".

"It was a bit of a shock to the system for her," Ferguson said.

"Her character shone through, she went to work and came back with a vengeance.

"She did everything and more that we could have asked of her, tackles, pressure, lively, polish.

"She was one that, when we might have lacked a bit of energy, really gave us a spark."

Ferguson said the Tigers were "taking more belief" with each week.

"I think we are getting better and better at playing that situational, smart football," he said.

"How we can play situations, whether that's in front and we've got to hold on, or whether that's behind and we need to generate some attack."

Scans will reveal the extent of Maddie Shevlin's ankle injury, after the defender was carried off the field in the final minutes of the clash.

"She is in great spirits... She can weight-bear," Ferguson said.

"We're hopeful, we'll just have to wait."

Jess Hosking (11 tackles) and Beth Lynch were ferocious in the contest, drawing praise from Ferguson.

"(Hosking) gave us that real tough edge that you need against Gold Coast because they're really hard and tough... She was really important to us," he said.

"(Lynch) had an ability to break the line and find some space and then be able to get the ball forward by hand or foot.

"We needed to get the ball off the line in the last quarter and generate a bit of space and fluency in attack.

"She was one of the players that was able to help us with that and rebound and get the ball out into more attacking areas."

It's a quick turnaround now for the Tigers, who next play in Perth against West Coast on Friday night.

"We get to recovery pretty quick," Ferguson said.

"We're a bit battered and bruised today. What we do know is how to look after ourselves during the week.

"We know how to recover, how to respond, and we're learning pretty quickly how to win. They're all important factors of the season and how we've gotten to this point."
