Richmond has signed Darebin Falcons winger Lulu Beatty to its AFLW list for the 2025 season.
Beatty has been a train-on player at the Tigers across the pre-season after previously spending two seasons on Carlton’s AFLW list.
The 21-year-old played four senior games at the Blues before being delisted at the end of 2024 after she was previously selected with the fifth pick overall at the 2023 AFLW Supplementary Draft.
Beatty made the move to Darebin for the 2025 VFLW campaign and has been excellent, averaging 19.8 disposals, seven handball receives, four tackles, and four marks per game.
The winger who has also spent time at half back this year was particularly impressive in the Round 2 game against Western Bulldogs, where she kicked the ball at 79% among 27 disposals and 14 marks.
Beatty’s two fourth-quarter goals against her old team, Carlton, in Round 5, amongst 23 disposals, also caught the eye of Richmond recruiters.
The train-on player has also impressed both Richmond players and staff with her character, professionalism, and desire to improve during her time training at the Swinburne Centre.
Richmond AFLW List and Recruiting Manager, Trent Mosbey, said that Beatty’s strengths were her kicking, work rate, run, and football IQ.
“Lulu’s ability to kick the ball makes her an impact player with ball in hand that can influence the game with each disposal,” Mosbey said.
“After being delisted by Carlton at the end of 2024, she has gone back to Darebin and worked very hard, showing improvement in a variety of areas, including 11 tackles against Geelong in Round 7.
“Lulu can intercept, provide dash and rebound off half back, and can generate metres gained with her work rate and running ability off a wing in combination with her long, accurate kicking.
“We welcome Lulu to the Richmond family and look forward to seeing her thrive in our program.”
