Fina Dethlefsen

2025 draftee Fina Dethlefsen will make her highly anticipated AFLW debut this weekend, pulling on the yellow and black for the first time against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon.

The 23-year-old, who hails from Perth, has impressed since her arrival at the Swinburne Centre, quickly showing off her aerial ability and strong marking presence.

The forward, who also spends time in the midfield and on the wing, has improved leaps and bounds, and was named emergency for last week's Round 1 win over Collingwood.

Selected with pick No.38 in the 2025 AFLW Draft, Dethlefsen averaged 13 disposals and six tackles a game for Perth last season, and was a member of the Western Australian representative team that took on South Australia.

Described as elite overhead with a strong drive through her legs, Dethlefsen offers more than just a strong tall presence in a contest, also able to run the lines and confidently hit targets inside-50.

Originally from Geraldton, she played for Railways Football Club and spent three years in the WAFLW.

She spent two seasons at Subiaco before making the move to Perth, building on her athleticism, power, speed, endurance and leap that led her to a Tigerland debut.

Dethlefsen becomes Richmond’s third debutant of the 2026 campaign, following her fellow 2025 draftees Olivia Wolmarans and Baia Pugh, who made their debut last week in the win over the Pies.
