Richmond recruit Georgia Stubs has earned her AFLW debut, after being traded in from North Melbourne to the Tigers in the off-season.
The 21-year-old will pull on the yellow and black for the first time against Essendon in Sunday night's Dreamtime in Darwin clash at TIO Stadium.
Stubs impressed during pre-season, showing off her capacity to break away from congestion with speed and confidence. She has continued to build her stamina and improve on her tackling ability, which has impressed teammates and coaches.
The pacy midfielder was drafted to the Kangaroos back in 2023 with the 30th overall draft pick, before being traded to the Tigers in the off-season.
Standing at 167cm tall, Stubs is handy across half-back and has already shown off her agility, high-level hunger at the contest and elite ball-reading ability.
Injuries, including a dislocated ankle back in 2024, kept Stubs from making her AFLW debut at the Roos, but her hard work has finally paid off.
Stubs becomes Richmond’s fourth debutant of the 2026 campaign, following 2025 draftees Olivia Wolmarans and Baia Pugh in Round 1, plus Fina Dethlefsen last week against the Bulldogs.
