Talented young midfielder Ella Wood will make her AFLW debut against North Melbourne at Ikon Park on Sunday afternoon.

Wood was taken by the Tigers with their third selection (Pick No. 31 overall) in the 2019 NAB AFLW Draft, becoming the first ever player from Ararat to be selected in the AFLW draft.

A life-long Richmond supporter, Wood will wear the Club’s famed No. 17 guernsey.

The 19-year-old, who travelled with the team to the Gold Coast last weekend as an emergency, will be the Tigers’ 13th AFLW debutant this season.

A smooth-moving left-footer, Wood has been named on the wing, where she impressed in the Tigers’ pre-season practice matches with her creativity and pinpoint kick.

She replaces Tayla Stahl, who suffered a hamstring injury in Round 2 against the Suns.

Richmond’s two emergencies for the Kangaroos clash are listed top-up players Hannah McLaren and Luka Lesosky-Hay.

Ciara Fitzgerald (illness), who was named on the extended interchange bench in Thursday night's squad, has been forced to withdraw and replaced by Lesosky-Hay.

The first bounce at Ikon Park is set for 3.10pm, with the Tigers looking to record their first AFLW win.
