One of Australia’s most talented dual sportspeople, Monique Conti has replaced the football with a basketball as she resumes her fantastic basketball journey as part of the Southside Flyers team in WNBL20.
However, the change is only for the shortened WNBL20 season and Conti will be back training with Richmond to be ready for the AFLW 2021 season due to commence in February.
The fact Conti plays both sports at the highest level confirms her status as one of Australia’s leading dual sportspeople. A star junior basketballer, including a World Championship Gold Medal, who has played five seasons in the WNBL, she is also a dual club best and fairest winner and premiership player in the AFLW.
While Conti's Richmond teammates are busy with a more traditional pre-season training campaign, the star midfielder is in North Queensland with the Flyers, striving to win the WNBL Championship. There has been very little rest with the Flyers playing 13 regular-season games in just over four weeks.
To keep the Richmond supporters up to date with her basketball progress, Mon’s Moments is a special highlights package from Monique Conti and the Flyers from WNBL20.
