Richmond selected Australian basketballer Lavey, with selection No.43 overall (29 Victorian) at the 2020 NAB AFL Women’s Draft. The two-time Olympian and Commonwealth Games gold medallist stood out with her speed, athleticism, and foot skills in her first three AFLW seasons, before being sidelined for her entire fourth campaign through injury. Lavey finished 5th in the Club’s best and fairest from seven matches in 2022 and was ninth in Season 7. The winger who was still elevated to the Tigers leadership group in 2023 despite her season long injury will now take on vice-captaincy duties upon her return in 2024.
