Richmond superstar Dustin Martin is tracking extremely well on the comeback trail from his serious kidney injury.

Martin, who suffered a lacerated kidney during the Tigers’ Round 18 match of the 2021 season against Brisbane at Metricon Stadium, is easing his way into training, with the Club expecting him to be able to do a complete pre-season.

“He’s started slowly moving. He’ll be back by the time pre-season starts,” Richmond’s General Manager of Football Talent Blair Hartley told SEN.

“From what I’ve been told, it will be a full recovery.

“He’ll be fine . . . just needs that time for it to heal.

“All the latest scans and everything else have come up really positive.

“When you look out your window and you see him moving around the track, that does get you excited.

“He’s taking it as stripping himself right back and getting himself primed for next year.

“I know he’s super-excited. And we’re very excited about watching Dustin next year.”
