Richmond will open its 2022 campaign against Carlton at the MCG, with the AFL today announcing the Round 1 fixture.
The match will be played in its familiar Thursday night timeslot, however, the season will officially be launched the night prior, with Melbourne hosting the Western Bulldogs in a Grand Final rematch.
The clash will be the 15th time in 16 seasons that the Tigers have kicked off their season against the Blues.
The remaining rounds of the 2022 AFL fixture will be announced next week.
