Richmond AFLW defender Harriet Cordner couldn't be more proud to be participating in the Tigers' Midsumma Match this Saturday as part of AFLW Pride Round.
"I'm really excited to be playing in Pride Round this weekend, it's a massive thing for the AFLW competition that we have a whole round dedicated to celebrating pride," Cordner said.
"For myself, it's about being proud about where I come from and who I am, and displaying that with the community.
"It's really important to have those affiliations with organizations like Midsumma because it shows what we're doing on a broader scale.
"Richmond's tie with Midsumma is really important and we'll be able to display that this weekend."

"What the AFLW is doing community-wide at the moment, is showing that they respect and accept and welcome people from everywhere, and not only do they welcome them, but tell them to embrace themselves and be proud of who are they, no matter what that is.
"I think it's really cool to see that happening and young boys and girls being open and exposed to that in the community.
"We're proud to wear the jumper and we're proud to tackle what's in front of us and that's a part of the AFLW competition and Richmond Football Club as a whole.
Cordner said the moment this Saturday when the Tigers run out wearing the club's inaugural Pride Guernsey will be a special one.
"It's really exciting, I've really enjoyed following on and hearing the stories of the other players in the competition and the other club's pride jumpers too," she said.
"Hearing the story shared with us the other night about our jumper was also really exciting.
"The girls got a big pump up from that and are really excited to pull it on this weekend."
As the Tigers prepare to face top-of-the-ladder Fremantle this Saturday, Cordner said they would be approaching the challenge "the same way we go about every week".
"We're just taking it in our stride...focusing on what we can do and bettering ourselves every session," she said.
"We've had two really good hit-outs, we didn't get the win on the weekend against Melbourne but we're really starting to put together some good footy and jel as a group.
"Bouncing back after half-time (against Melbourne) after a slower second quarter and being able to see that fight and determination to get ourselves back into the game was really positive, so that's been the message of the week, to take taking pride in that bounce back that we had.
"We're really excited to take to the park again in Round 3 against Freo and I think we're heading in the right direction, it's exciting what we're building."
