Richmond draftee Katelyn Cox will be making the most of her second chance at AFLW.

Cox, who was added to North Melbourne's AFLW list as a forward/midfielder in 2021 as a replacement player, doesn't yet have an AFLW game to her game.

But now she has another shot at her dream.

"I'm so stoked, so happy to be here," she said.

"I didn't think I'd get another opportunity but I'm so happy to be playing AFLW again."

After missing out on the previous four AFLW drafts, Cox's moment finally arrived.

"I was in shock and really excited, just relieved as well," she said.

"It's been a long journey so I was happy to have my name called out at a draft."

The versatile 24-year-old flourished in a new backline role with Hawthorn's VFLW side this year, and is hoping to continue to develop that at Tigerland.

"I think I'll be playing at both ends of the ground but mostly in the backline, I've really loved playing in the backline this year," she said.

"(I'll bring) my speed, my hunger for the ball, and my tackle pressure as well."

Cox is no stranger to a number of her new teammates, having previously played with Beth Lynch, Meagan Kiely, Meg Macdonald and the Hosking twins.

"I'm so excited to be playing wth these girls again," she said.

"I grew up playing with the Hoskings and and loved it, so it will be awesome to play with them again."
