The wait is finally over for Judson Clarke, who will make his highly-anticipated return to AFL football after not playing a senior game since Round 2 of the 2024 season.

That's 867 days of hard work to return to the top level, with Clarke earning his way back into the senior side, after suffering two ACL setbacks since the 2024 season.

Since his ACL injury that hasn't seen him play a game at AFL level since March 2024, the 23-year-old has played 10 VFL games across the last two seasons.

Most recently, Clarke has collected a total of 16 disposals against both Box Hill and Footscray, taking 12 marks across the two matches.

When speaking on his return to VFL football last month, Clarke explained his excitement.

"I'm excited to feel like a footy player again. There was a period of time in rehab, five or six months, where you feel like you're just stuck. I lost the feeling of being a footballer, and felt like a rehabber," Clarke said.

"It's good to reflect on the hardship and realise how strong you can be. The resilience was good to reiterate how strong my brain is. There's no doubt that my injuries have shaped who I am and who I'll be in the future."

Alongside Clarke, small forward Steely Green has also been recalled into the side.

The duo replace Sam Cumming (ankle/shoulder) and Luke Trainor (suspension).

The backline is made up of Nathan Broad, Ben Miller, Kye Annand, Tom Brown, Sam Banks and Nick Vlastuin.

Patrick Retschko, Tim Taranto and Tyler Sonsie make up the centreline. Skipper Toby Nankervis takes the spot in the ruck, alongside followers Jack Ross and Sam Lalor.

Seth Campbell, Dion Prestia, Hugo Ralphsmith, Tom Lynch, Taj Hotton and Mykelti Lefau make up the forward line.

The final interchange is made up of Green, Sam Grlj, Clarke, Jayden Short and Samson Ryan.

Kane McAuliffe, James Trezise and Zane Peucker are the emergencies.

Richmond takes on the Crows this Saturday night from 7.35pm (AEST), 7.05pm (local time) at Adelaide Oval.
